BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGINA NYAKAIRU KIRUNDA
Georgina Nyakairu Kirunda is a Statistician providing Statistical support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta , Georgia.
CDC is a public health federal agency providing the U.S and the rest of the world with information on disease prevention and control. She works on National Health Studies at the CDC where she calculates the probability of chronic disease, and accesses the risk factors for chronic disease mainly cancer, pulmonary and cardio vascular diseases in the women, men and chidren. She writes computer programs using Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) to perform Statistical analysis, data mining and management of medical data. She also performs sampling, imputation and weighting of surveillance data using Statistical Software.
She obtained her Biostatistics, Statistics, Informatics and Epidemiology professional training from Harvard School of Public Health in Cambrigde , Massachusetts and Makerere University in Kampala , Uganda. She has Bachelor of Science from Makerere University ; is currently pursuing a Masters in Statistics and probably later a PhD. Georgina , is a member of American Statistical Association (ASA), American Society of Preventive Oncology (ASPO) and she is involved in scientific paper publications. She is an alumni of Mount Saint Mary's Namagunga in Lugazi , Uganda. She is married with 3 children; ages 6, 2, and 11 months lives in Atlanta , Georgia. She believes in a good balance between work, rest, good health, family and religion for a full-filling life. She enjoys praying a lot and believes nothing is impossible with God; you just have to believe.
