Youth are Central to Convention

This year’s 19th annual UNAA convention will set the pace for future youth participation. Delegates will be featured prominently in the opening and closing ceremonies and will have a full load of cultural, educational and social activities to engage them throughout their stay in San Francisco.

Program Highlights

Talent showcases, cultural events and performances will keep San Francisco delegates busy. An open mic/freestyle talent showcase will be held, featuring, karaoke, comedy, rap and poetry. A panel of experts from the Bay Area music and art community will judge the contests.

Cultural Performances

Cultural events on the youth schedule include cultural modeling and traditional dance. Youth artists and urban music performers from Uganda will be on board to entertain, alongside local rap and hip hop acts from the Bay Area who will also be performing.
